La Fondation Louis Vuitton consacre une rétrospective inédite à David Hockney, réunissant plus de 400 œuvres couvrant soixante-dix ans de création. L’exposition met en lumière la présence et l’influence des artistes noirs en France entre les années 1940 et 2000, à travers les œuvres de cent cinquante créateurs afro-descendants originaires d’Afrique et des Amériques, dont certaines n’ont encore jamais été présentées en France. Paris noir révèle un Paris cosmopolite, à la fois terre de résistance et foyer de création, où se sont développées des expressions artistiques variées, entre affirmation identitaire et explorations esthétiques transculturelles. Quatre installations inédites de Valérie John, Nathalie Leroy Fiévee, Jay Ramier et Shuck One jalonnent le parcours, apportant un regard contemporain sur cette histoire riche et foisonnante.

The exhibition highlights the presence and influence of Black artists in France between the 1940s and 2000s, through the works of one hundred and fifty Afro-descendant creators from Africa and the Americas, some of which have never been presented in France before. Paris Noir reveals a cosmopolitan Paris, both a land of resistance and a hub of creation, where diverse artistic expressions developed, ranging from identity assertion to transcultural aesthetic explorations. Four unprecedented installations by Valérie John, Nathalie Leroy Fiévee, Jay Ramier, and Shuck One punctuate the journey, offering a contemporary perspective on this rich and vibrant history.

Figure majeure de la photographie française, Robert Doisneau a immortalisé des instants de vie devenus des icônes à travers le monde. Cette rétrospective exceptionnelle réunit plus de 250 clichés capturés entre les années 1930 et 1980, retraçant un demi-siècle de création. Pour lui, la photographie relevait de l’illusion, une mise en scène subtile du quotidien transformée en images empreintes de poésie et de douceur. L’exposition suit un fil chronologique, dévoilant la banlieue parisienne de son enfance, les ateliers d’artistes qu’il fréquentait et ses incursions dans le monde de la mode.
